Refund and Returns Policy

Thank you for choosing Vjay Cakes (“we”, “our”, “us”). We are committed to providing you with delicious, freshly baked cakes and treats. Because of the perishable nature of our products, please review our Return & Refund Policy carefully before placing your order.

1. Overview

This policy outlines your rights and our procedures regarding returns, refunds, cancellations, and exchanges for products purchased from our website https://vjaycakes.co.uk.

2. Perishable Goods

All of our cakes, cupcakes, and confectionery items are made to order and perishable.
Therefore, we cannot accept returns or offer refunds once an order has been baked, dispatched, or collected — except where there is a proven error or fault on our part (see Section 3).

3. Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Orders

If your order arrives damaged, incomplete, or not as described:

  • Please notify us within 24 hours of delivery or collection.
  • Provide clear photos of the issue (damaged packaging, incorrect item, etc.) to orders@vjaycakes.co.uk.
  • Once verified, we will offer one of the following remedies:
    • A replacement of the same product,
    • A suitable alternative, or
    • A full or partial refund, depending on the extent of the issue.

Refunds will be processed to your original payment method within 5–7 business days after confirmation.

4. Cancellations

Orders can be cancelled within 24 hours of placement, provided baking or preparation has not yet begun.
After this period, materials may have been procured and preparation may be underway, so cancellations are not guaranteed.

Custom cakes and bespoke designs are non-refundable once work has commenced.

5. Collection & Delivery

Please ensure that someone is available at the delivery address to receive your order.
If no one is available and redelivery is required, additional delivery fees may apply.
Once the cake or treat is received in good condition, Vjay Cakes cannot be held responsible for any damage due to mishandling or incorrect storage.

6. Allergies and Ingredients

All allergen information is provided at the time of order. It is the customer’s responsibility to review this before purchase.
We cannot offer refunds for failure to check allergen information once an order has been fulfilled.

7. Non-Perishable Items

For non-perishable items such as cake toppers, boxes, or merchandise:

  • You have a 14-day cooling-off period from the date of delivery, as per the Consumer Contracts Regulations (2013).
  • Items must be unused, unopened, and returned in their original packaging at your own cost.
  • A refund (excluding delivery fees) will be processed once the returned items are received and inspected.
